Yesterday’s traditional Yoruba ceremony was everything we had all hoped it would be. Loud, colourful, emotional (the groom’s mother in particular, embarrassingly) and full of love, laughter and wonderful Nigerian music and food. Today will start off as a much more sedate, traditionally British affair, but be in no doubt – it won’t end up that way. Angus and Seun are already married by Nigerian law, and at about 3.30pm today will emerge from church as Capt and Dr, man and wife, joined in the eyes of the Church of England. Apart from sending out this blog, I don’t intend to think about L&F AT ALL today, much as I love it. Everything takes second place to family, and the joy of increasing ours by one, and by all hers, is overwhelming. Bring it on!
