SUMMER MADNESS

SUMMER MADNESS

A summer sale seemed like a good idea at the time.  With autumn on the horizon, we reasoned, we should clear the decks and make room for new stock.  Some of our old favourites were the first to be listed – table mats, stripy flower pots, soap dishes …. nothing escaped our beady eye, or our increasingly steely business hearts.  There’s no room for sentiment in retail it seems, and we are being ruthless when choosing what to continue to stock, and from which of our suppliers.  But the power of social media should never be underestimated and imagine our creeping panic as we worked out that you are all taking hideous advantage of our largesse, and we’ve been keeping Kirsty and Gavin (our lovely posties) extremely busy for the last few days.  And then it dawned on us that we needed to be a bit thoughtful about having enough merchandise to take to the five fairs we have on between now and Christmas.  As a result we have just placed another big order with one of our suppliers – oh, and we’re delighted to report that we’re off shortly to the beautiful Belvoir Castle with a whole load of candles and diffusers, which means that next week will be spent replenishing our stocks of those, too.   So add to the chaos why don’t you – tell us what you’d like us to list next.  We’ll do what we can to oblige, and try not to think what Tracey, our excellent bookkeeper will have to say on the matter in due course.  I’d hate to cross her ….
