BLOOMING MARVELLOUS

BLOOMING MARVELLOUS

The latest excitement in my charmed life has been a visit to the Chelsea Flower Show at the beginning of last week.  I took to gardening BIG time during the Covid lockdown and was so, so lucky to have the space, weather and time to indulge in some pretty serious fruit and veg production, ably aided by three children and one husband.  (Until we took it in turns to get ill of course, but that’s another story.)  It was creative, constructive and tiring, so a wonderfully practical antidote to the madness and horror all around: gardening as therapy is after all a well-known implement in the toolkit of mental and physical health care.   It feels so good to pile the table high with homegrown, delicious produce that has travelled feet not miles, and to share it with those who matter most to you.  And it’s with those thoughts and this season in mind that L&F’s newest offerings are the most gorgeous ceramic plant/herb pots, in trendy stripes with pretty frilly tops.  Handmade in the UK they really are just lovely – and went down spectacularly well at Hampton Court the other weekend.   Fill them with lovely short cut flowers or midge-repelling lavender, basil, mint or rosemary and scatter them along your al fresco table, beautifully laid with L&F textiles, candles and candlesticks, for the ultimate in country summer living.

Oh, and I’m free most Thursdays, and will travel.
