THANK YOU, to everyone who sundanced last week! What a cracking afternoon we had: the sun may not have been dangerously hot, but it didn’t pour – which, this year, is a definite win. Businesses sold stock, people ate and drank, Lauren the wonderful cellist played her heart out, and none of the beautiful cars was touched or sullied but all were admired as they gleamed on the gravel. And most of all we – you – took a spectacular £2,000 on the day, the profit from which will be split 50/50 between the local Air Ambulance, and The M Word, a tiny but much needed outfit which works so very hard to plug some of the gaps in our local mental health provision. One week on and you’d almost never know anything had happened here: the grass is a bit battered, but the portaloos have gone and the bunting is down and (relative) peace reigns over all. Will we do it again? Definitely. Am I glad it won’t be for another 12 months? Definitely. And inspired by so much of what we saw and so many lovely comments, we are chomping at the collective bit, eager to create and source more UK made products to reflect our lives here and in Argyll. So after a couple of stiff gins and more very strong coffee, we’re turning our minds to the next things in the diary – Hallowe’en, and then Christmas. You have been warned!
