ALREADY?!

It’s nearing the end of June, so of course our thoughts turn to … Christmas.  If you feel that the whole world is Christmas mad, and you think it starts too early, my only words of advice to you would be to NOT start a company that relies on businesses with long manufacturing lead times, or one who’s busiest times by a country mile is in the lead-up to December 25^th.  If we’re to have new stock bearing new designs in place by November, believe it or not we need to start now.  In itself that’s not a problem but what I do slightly resent is the photo shoots, which involve dressing a table/room/house very unseasonally.  To be fair, the house lends itself well to such primping, but we then have the joy of dismantling it all in the certain knowledge that in not very long (we all know how time flies), we’ll be doing it all again for real.  Ah well, it’s a first world problem (as so many of ours are) and we’ll struggle through.  So the real question is: shall we do as we did in 2023 and inadvertently choose the hottest day of the whole year to stage the show?  Not only heaving boxes, folding and unfolding endless pieces of fabric in various guises, wrestling with garlands and tinsel and the like, but all by the heat of open fires designed to tell you it’s Christmas without telling you it’s Christmas – you have no idea how we suffer on your behalf.  Just remember that when you see the final result!
